Dual Credit Programs

Dual Credit Programs are partnership programs between KCSD and BC Post-Secondary Institutions.
DUAL CREDIT IS UNIQUE SECONDARY PROGRAMMING
Students enrolled in dual credit programs participate in college courses through a BC Post-Secondary Institute. Students receive college credits and high school credits towards graduation.
Dual Credit programming is an amazing opportunity to start the transition to post-secondary while still in high school!

DUAL CREDIT OFFERINGS
DUAL CREDIT PROGRAMS

EARLY LEARNING AND CHILDCARE DIPLOMA (ELCD)

In-person classes at Selkirk College and practicum placements in Early Childhood Centres
32 high school credits
Students complete the first year of the ELCD program.
Tuition for Year 1 is sponsored by the school district.
Tuition for year 2 is the student/families responsibility.
Upon completion of th full two year program, students will have the equivalent to the ECCE Certificate AND the Infant/Toddler Advanced Certificate.
Runs September - June
AVAILABLE IN GRADE 12
EDUCATION ASSISTANT AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER (EACSW)
BLENDED DELIVERY: In-person classes at Selkirk College and online courses
24 high school credits
Students complete the first year of the EACSW program.
Tuition for Year 1 is sponsored by the school district.
Tuition for year 2 is the student/families responsibility.
Upon completion of the full two year program students can work as Inclusuion Support Employees, community support workers and job coaches
Runs September - June
AVAILABLE IN GRADE 12

HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT (HCA)
BLENDED DELIVERY: In-person classes at Selkirk College and online courses.
Practicum experiences in health care settings.
24 high school credits
Students complete the first year of the EACSW program.
Upon competion of the 30 week program Health Care Assistant Diploma program students are qualified to work as Health Care Assistants in a variety of health care environments.
Runs February to August
